Juhani Lehtonen High-end fine dining with Finnish food flavours. Very interesting portions having nice layers of different tastes. Not everyday (week or month) stuff due to high price (two person 262€), but in overall very nice and comfortable experience. Service was also very friendly and in Finnish terms even a little bit over-friendly.Only one thing was a little bit not in there, and it was tempo of serving. But still all portions are kind of art and all even the smallest details are done with extra care, so this might take some time.
Emilia Rantala Traditional Finnish food turned into modern dishes. Amazing flavours, high quality wines and great service. Sincerely recommend.
JK Chin Excellent food and service warmed up at the end. Would have been perfect overall if all guests were greeted and welcomed warmly when the doors open at 13:00. It’s the small details which makes or break an experience.
Martti Ranin Finnish classics presented in a new way, surprisingly and beautifully plated. Service should be more relaxed as Sali is more like a bistro.
Yaroslava Troynich I have visited Sali on 30.06 with my husband. It was our 15th anniversary. We got gift voucher from our family. So it was special dinner. In my summer soup, after I had eaten the whole plate, I found a metal spike from a dishwasher branch, I guess. When it was in my mouth I first thought it was a fish bone from a previous dish. I’m glad I didn’t swallow it. When the waitress came for the plates, she apologized and said that they will be more careful in the kitchen. After that no one approached and did not comment on the situation in any way. When they brought an impressive bill, they discounted my menu by 6 euros. If I had been there for a usual dinner, I would have made a scandal and would not have paid for the food and would not have continued with the dinner. All evening I thought, what if I ate another tooth and it pierced my stomach? What if other dishes were treated so carelessly there too? But it was a special dinner, so I didn’t want to spoil the atmosphere. Apparently, this is why the restaurant staff thought the incident was not serious, as the customer swallowed it without choking. Mistakes are made by everyone, but the way the consequences are dealt with speaks volumes about the level of service. And I think that the lack of an apology and a 6 euro discount is an undignified level.Speaking of dishes, they were not memorable, not the brightest Finnish flavors. Too much unnecessary sauce on the plaice (good smoking taste though), caviar in the sauce was impossible to pick up with a fork. There were tasty elements in the dessert – cardamom ice cream and sour meringue. Separately, I would like to mention the aperitif, which was called strawberry Aperol Spritz. I was expecting something summery and with strawberries. In fact it was pretty much the standard Aprerol Spritz with a garnish of orange – there was no strawberry in the taste or the presentation. Overall it was a pleasant atmosphere, but I was going there for interesting flavours and didn’t get them.
Nina Tyni Went to a lunch on Saturday afternoon. Took menu that included a lot of fish, potatoes and cabbage and loved it. Service was very professional. Highly recommend.
Daniel Johansen Well worth a visit. Really tasty Finnish dishes with a twist. Nice wine pairing.
