A great place to have a cup of coffee together with a freshly baked cinnemon bun. Lunch is also available. The Lotta Museums main exhibition “The Story of the Lotta – Always Demand the Most from Yourself” an experience-based and touching exhibition based on the personal experiences of the Lottas. The exhibition is a comprehensive presentation of the history and activities of the Lotta Organization and the impact it had on the post-WWII society. The main building was built in 1995 and was designed to resemble the original tower villa from the 1800s, which was eventually destroyed by a fire on The 1st of April 1947.

Pretty, maybe they could have put an English description or a qr code with an English audio guide…Edit, I found 1 description in English and French!

Such an interesting history museum about the Lotta Organisation. A tribute to the women who helped keep Finland going through dark years of wars

An awe-inspiring museum that hosts the history of Lotta and artifacts that were used by this wartime Finnish women’s pseudo-military organisation. The Lotta’s contribution was belatedly recognized by the Finnish government and publics as well. Now, Lotta enjoys the same honour as wartime male soldiers.

Very positive surprise, if you are interested history from 1920’s to end of WW2. And worlds largest female volunteer defence support organization compared to country’s population. Good cafeteria also.
