The new Rosso restaurant is a much larger and spacious affair compared to the old one. It seems to have lost some of the intimacy and coziness that marked the old restaurant. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and kind. The service is generally prompt and efficient; unless, the place is very busy when there can be a bit of a wait. It is one of the better restaurants in Jyvaskyla offering Italian-style restaurants.

I was in Jyväskylä for Rally Finland and ate at Rosso three times. The food is excellent and the service is great too. Prices are reasonable for Scandinavia. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I can highly recommend the grilled beef liver (accompanied by a glass of red wine); the spaghetti with prawns and chilli; and the grilled steak. Requests for extra vegetables or different sauces were happily accommodated. The salad bar was fresh and varied. The restaurant is comfortable and even if it’s busy it doesn’t feel crowded. There’s no loud music, so conversation is easy and provides a good atmosphere to just enjoy the food. The photo shows the liver, which I requested with fries instead of mashed potatoes, and also extra vegetables. Best meal I’ve had in Finland!

Excellent menu choices. Had pasta scampi but came with spaghetti not fusilli? Very tasty anyway. Closed very promptly at 9pm on Sunday evg, otherwise would have been 5*!!

Good experience for S-group’s family restaurant. Fast service, focusing on the kids and the food was just perfect for routine weekday dinner out. Service was friendly, even though the waitresses were very young.

New Rosso has nice atmosphere and interior. Food is medicore at best and portions are so small that you end up leaving hungry. The “salad” buffet has been the same for atleast 30 years. I really would like to come here but always I end up regreting.
