Our waitress was friendly. Atmosphere inside was nice and the outside terrace had a good view of the market square. My shrimp pasta was fine (the sauce tasted like sweet chili) but there’s probably better options on the menu.

The building is old and was very cold. On inspection, the glass is only double glazed, so the experience may have been better if we sat on the inside. But we sat near the children’s playing area, so this was a problem.The service was very slow to take orders, but quick to take money! The quality of the food was adequate for a chain restaurant, but I do wonder how much of it is actually fresh, rather than from frozen.

I am having lunches there occasionally, and I am missing soup as a part of lunch. The main course portions, like fish or meat, are really small in lunch time, which is annoying. I also wonder if the meat balls in the lunch list are prepared food, not from own kitchen.

Rosso is always a good option for the families with kids. Good food for everyones taste. Since Rosso is a restaurant chain they look and feel quite the same everywhere. But still – I would like to give Rosso Kajaani a slightly better grade than for average Rosso.
